Telion lets a musician send the sound of their own session to their own listeners. Nothing is recorded and nothing is stored: audio passes through our relay in memory while a stream is open and it is gone when the stream ends. Even so, a stream can carry material somebody else owns, and this page says what we do about that.

Your side

When you stream through Telion you confirm that you own what you are streaming or that you are allowed to stream it, and that you will not use Telion as a broadcast or distribution channel for other people's music. Sharing a link with the band, the label, a client or a mastering engineer is what this is for.

Reporting a problem

If you believe material you own is being streamed through our relay without permission, write to us at the email address at the bottom of this page with the subject "Copyright", and include:

Our designated agent for notices under the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act, with the postal address and telephone number, is listed at the bottom of this page.

A stream is live and short lived, so the practical remedy is usually immediate: we can end an active stream and suspend the key behind it. We act on complete notices as quickly as we reasonably can.

Please do not send a notice for material you do not own, or for use that is fair use or otherwise allowed. Under 17 U.S.C. 512(f) a person who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing can be held liable for damages, including costs and legal fees.

Counter notice

If your stream was stopped or your key suspended and you believe that was a mistake or that the use was authorised, write to the same address with the subject "Counter notice" and include your name, address, telephone number and email, identification of the stream or key, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification, your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the district where you live, or, if you live outside the United States, for any district where we may be found, and your agreement to accept service of process from the person who complained, plus your signature.

Where the law requires it, we will pass your counter notice to the complainant and restore access unless they tell us they have filed a court action within the period the law gives them.

Repeat infringers

We keep a record of complaints we receive. If the same account is the subject of repeated, properly made complaints, we terminate that account and the licences on it, in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion. That termination is not refunded.

Trademarks and everything else

For a trademark complaint, a privacy complaint or a report of abusive use of a stream, write to the same address and describe the problem in plain terms. We respond to every complaint that identifies what is wrong and what you want done.
